What People Are Saying...
“I don’t think I
can say too many good things about Pathways and the
Pinkstons. I have known Eric for more than 10 years and
Tina almost as long. Troop 552 has had at least one
outing with them each year since the Troops beginning in
1997. I view them more as friends than guides. They
are competent above measure and most importantly love
what they do and those they work with. The Troop’s
scouts recognize this and look forward to each trip
whether it be caving or climbing. As long as Pathways
and the Pinkstons continue to guide, Troop 552 will be
on their schedule.”
- Joseph Ashby,
Scoutmaster Troop 552, Northeast Georgia Council
“To prospective climber, repellers and adventurers.
I have been using Pathways and the Pinkstons for all our
rock climbing and repelling adventures for over 10
years. They have been great whether it was an
experienced boy scout troop, young boy scout/webelo or
coed Venture Crew. They have always been at the
appointed location on time, prepared, and with excellent
equipment, attitude and guidance. They have always had
adequate coverage for climbing with safety a top
priority. Their attitude is upbeat and encouraging
whether it is the more experienced athletic climber or
the young or older adult who is not too sure about
heights! We have had many who were at first just
along to be with the group and with the encouragement
and enthusiasm of Pathways discover something new they
could do and have the sweet sense of accomplishment and
self confidence of stretching themselves further than
they thought they could in a safe learning
environment. I heartily recommend and endorse Pathways
to any group seeking an outdoor adventure.”
- Phil Stovall,
Scoutmaster - Crew Adviser - Church College leader
"Although
it was harrowing, I think it was quite an accomplishment
for me and for them to get me to do it. When I look
back on it I totally freak out about the pancake squeeze
but I feel good that I did it."
- a 50 year old
mom who chaperoned a trip with a boy scout troop
“I can say that
over the course of years, I have done many trips with
Pathways, both climbing and caving. I have
seen Pathways guides work with various scout groups both
boys and girls of ages ranging from 11 years old to 19
years old and their adult chaperones. Their team can
coerce, encourage, and even incite enthusiasm about
climbing to heights or crawling through spaces that none
of the individuals would ever have thought possible, nor
ever would have even voluntarily done if not for the
sparked camaraderie of their companions in the group.
Their climbing
and caving trips are wonderful team building
experiences, and the challenges are both invigorating
and gratifying by the end of the day. I have seen them
repeatedly talk kids (and adults) through situations in
which they have gone well outside their comfort zone,
and yet come through at the end with a sigh of relief
and a sense of profound accomplishment, and even
sometimes the discovery of wanting to repeat a new-found
challenge! I have recommended Pathways Guiding to many
youth leaders and sports team coaches who wanted to find
a good team building experience.”
